Why I Do This

Hi. I’m Shelly.

I never expected to become so passionate about root cause and gut health. I was just an ordinary mom of 2, wife of a firefighter, and administrative assistant at a dog training facility trying to keep up with the chaos of everyday life. Sure, I lived the toxin free, whole foods, sunshine is medicine life… but I had no idea how deep gut health truly matter in overall health.

When my youngest son began struggling with constipation, sleep issues, and eczema we were told “that’s just normal.” Prescription creams were offered for his skin issues and we were told to just wait out the sleep struggles.

Right around his first birthday, everything seemed to snowball. After a round of antibiotics for strep, food sensitivities began appearing one after another. His eczema spread across his entire body. He became increasingly selective with food, struggled developmentally, and many of the symptoms we had been told were "normal" only continued to worsen. His sleep was the worst it had ever been, waking every 40 minutes and needing to be nursed back to bed.

As a mom, I couldn't shake the feeling that all of these issues were connected.

I immediately set out on a course to find the reason my son was experiencing all these issues and was determined to help his body find balance.

That journey changed everything. I am now a Certified Integrative Health Practitioner with additional studies in pediatric gut health.

Today, I help parents connect the dots between seemingly unrelated symptoms and support their child’s health through a root-cause approach.

And my son? A happy, healthy, sleeping, eating, pooping 1x a day, eczema free 3.5 year old who is a completely different version of himself (in the best way possible!)
